Digital Startup Consult ADIF Working to Boost Indian Startup Ecosystem to Top 3 Globally by 2030 – Nicholas Say

The Alliance of Digital India Foundation (ADIF) is focused on fostering a strong knowledge base amid widespread collaboration, also developing appropriate policies to promote growth.

The organization has plans to make the Indian startup ecosystem rank in the top three globally by 2030.

ADIF CEO Sijo Kuruvila George thinks the startup’s issues with the Google Play Store could be the point to start a conversation with a lot of startups and discover a suitable path for further growth.

At present, India is the third largest startup market in the world. In addition, the country is also the home of more than 50 unicorn startups, which puts it after the US and China on the world stage.

Despite being the third in terms of size, the Indian startup ecosystem comes in much lower according to some rankings. George said that ADIF’s mission is to see the Indian startup ecosystem transformed, and to become one of the top three countries in the world by 2030.

In addition, ADIF will consider building an alliance to cultivate knowledge-sharing activities with Indian founders in the near future. At ADIF, these insights will be compiled and delivered to the young entrepreneurs with the aim of improving the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Although the ADIF ecosystem is still very young and policies have not fully caught up with global trend, ADIF will also focus on advocating beneficial policies.

Recently, Google proposed charging a 30% fee on the revenue that apps earn through the Play Store and the group sees that as a problem.

To come up with a solution, ADIF is responsible for discussing the profitability issue of Indian startups as most apps and startups in India do not offer high margins.

Startups will have to keep moving forward and find ways to adapt to the global markets, and deal with both regulations and business factors.

Furthermore, ADIF will work actively to bring about improvements regarding issues surrounding angel investors or cross-border payments, as well as other limitations for development.
